SunKissed Face Powder

With a natural lifestyle come natural products. I don't use much make-up, but when I do,  I want it to be healthy for my skin.

I have been looking for natural products for some time now and although there are some good ones out there like Bare Minerals, 100% Pure and Tarte, I am not a big fan of their price tags.

Two weeks ago I was making a new batch of my homemade toothpaste and when I was mixing up my ingredients, it hit me. Why not make my own make-up

So I did! And I promised to share my recipe with you, so here we go!

"Sun kissed" Foundation Powder

Ingredients

1/4 cup arrowroot flour/starch
4 tbsp good quality cacao powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp bentonite clay
10 drops vitamin E
10 drops of your favourite essential oil

Instructions

First, bentonite clay should never come in contact with metal, so gather your ingredients in a non-metallic bowl and use wooden spoons. Starting from the top, add the first two ingredients and whisk together. Whisk after every new ingredient you add.

You can test the color by placing a small amount on your face with your finger. When it's too dark, add more arrowroot, when it's too light add more cacao. The amount you use of each ingredient will greatly depend on your skin complexion.

* Do not apply on a oily skin because the cacao powder will bind to the oil. When you have an oily skin or when you use a oily moisturizer, use a bit of arrowroot on your face before putting on your powder. I also strongly recommend using all organic ingredients!
