Each week I find all sorts of little treasures online and offline that I want to share with you, the must-read articles, the news everyone must know about, the new green brands, quotes, books, but also beautiful handmade products or inspiring people.

You can find them here, in our weekly posts called
Little Treasures.

Ok, can we all just take a moment to look at this grain-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free, incredible chocolate cake from Sweet Laurel?
Did you see it? Now wipe away the drool in the corner of your mouth.

I might be a little late to the party, but have you checked out Netflix's new gem, The OA?
This show is blowing my mind. We're only at episode 5 from season 1 so don't spoil anything.
We love our Netflix time, but it has been a while since we did the whole "One more episode and than we really go to bed" thing. Go and check it out!

Everything related to enzymes and boosting our gut flora always catches my attention. Who has read The Body Ecology Diet yet? I came across this post from Donna Gates, the writer of the book on The Chalkboard Magazine and I would love to hear your reviews.

These words by Aubrey Renee, "If we ever have babes I’ll warm their fingers between my kneecaps as they have their Monday life crises and Tuesday life crises. I’ll whisper promises of five year crises and hopes for 30 year old life crises and at least a dozen mid life crises. I would make sure to point out the phases of the moon as I tuck them in and remind them that they can change with just as much swiftness. Sometimes a sliver and sometimes an orb." Right?! After I received back the results from my hair mineral analysis two months ago - which showed that both my adrenals and thyroid are exhausted - I have been working really hard to upgrade my habits. One thing I did was picking three hormone supporting drinks and make sure that I drink those religiously.

Morning : Warm Lemon Water - This one is simple but the effects can be profound. I start my day with a big glass of warm water and a few squeezes of lemon first thing in the morning (after oil pulling and brushing my teeth). Lemons are high in vitamin C, which has been shown to benefit the skin and boost immunity. Lemons have also been shown to help the liver detoxify the body and improve insulin resistance by regulating hormones like glucose and leptin.

Afternoon : Pick me up Tea - When I get back behind my desk after lunch I'll have a Red Raspberry Leaf, Nettle Leaf and Peppermint Leaf Tea. Raspberry leaf has historically been used to strengthen uterine muscles, and there’s some scientific evidence to back the claim that the herb can have a powerful effect on hormones. Adding calcium-rich nettles to a raspberry leaf tea is also a great way to support bone health. And I add in a little peppermint leaf for that "Afternoon Pick Me Up Buzz"

Bedtime : Golden Milk - This is the ultimate hormone-balancing concoction, and it’s also soothing, and delicious. The combination of the adaptogens, oils, nut milk, honey, and spices is warming and rejuvenating.
My golden milk is made out of coconut milk, Ashwagandha, Turmeric, Cloves, Triphala, Cinnamon, Crushed Pepercorns, Ghee, and Raw Honey.
