A slow and intentional morning routine.

A slow and intentional morning routine + smoothie recipe.

Slow and intentional moments in your morning routine can be so healing for the nervous system. It's so important to prioritize certain things to set ourselves up for success and not feel like we need to rush ourselves. If you struggle with this then here is the perfect slow morning routine and a delicious smoothie recipe for you.

To start your day, stretch and drink a glass of water to hydrate yourself, if you take probiotics, put them on your nightstand so you can take them first thing in the morning. Drinking water and stretching right away helps to wake you up and get your metabolism going. Add a squeeze of lemon to your water for an extra boost of vitamin C. Then, do a quick 10-minute meditation to help clear your mind and set your intentions for the day. I always like to pick an essential oil that fits my mood and write down a few things I’m grateful for in my journal.

After your meditation, take a quick shower and put on clothes that make you feel good. Tell yourself you look amazing when you look into the mirror. Before making your coffee or tea, make sure to eat a healthy breakfast, mine consists of eggs, fruit, and sourdough bread on the weekend, and a green or chocolate smoothie during the weekdays. Starting your day with a nutritious breakfast helps you make healthier choices throughout the day because you're not running on caffeine or dealing with cravings. This is the chocolate smoothie I've been enjoying lately:

Instructions:

I always love using the protein powders from Naked Nutrition because they have such clean ingredients. The Ella protein powders have collagen and organic seed protein combined with a powerful beauty blend of hyaluronic acid, zinc, vitamin C, biotin, and more improves skin elasticity, smoothness and gives a natural glow.

Protein smoothies work well if you are on a schedule in the morning. It's a great way to get the necessary nutrients and some extra greens and protein into your diet. Pair your smoothie with a piece of fruit if you're feeling extra hungry. By sticking to this morning routine, you're keeping your energy balanced. If you find yourself sitting for extended periods of time, taking regular breaks and go for a quick walk or stretch to stay energized and focused throughout the day. And don't forget to stay hydrated by drinking water (adding some sea salt or other minerals) and herbal tea. Having a morning routine can give you a sense of control over your day, which is always nice. Plus, it helps you establish healthy habits and take care of yourself, which is good for your body and mind.

For me, it’s an essential tool in achieving my goals and living my best life.
